On 29 July, the Drohobych community will bid a final farewell to Oleksii Bohdanov, a defender of Ukraine who was killed in action while carrying out a combat mission, defending the state from the Russian aggressor.
Oleksii Bohdanov was born on 23 May 1995 in Mariupol. After completing his studies, he qualified as a gas electric welder and worked in this profession.
In April 2021, he signed a contract for military service. The defender served as a sapper in the 3rd engineer-sapper section of the engineer-sapper platoon of the engineer company of military unit A1546.
On 23 July 2026, the serviceman was killed near the village of Pidhirne in Zaporizhzhia region while carrying out a combat mission. According to available information, his life was cut short after the vehicle he was in was hit by an FPV drone. Until his last breath, the soldier remained faithful to his military oath and to the Ukrainian people.
The funeral cortege bearing the body of the fallen warrior is scheduled to be met on 29 July at 14:00 at the Heroes Crossroads. At 14:30, the funeral service will begin at the Church of St Nicholas the Wonderworker in the village of Nahuievychi, after which Oleksii Bohdanov will be laid to rest in the local cemetery.
Mourning his loss are his wife, son, mother, parents, sisters and his wife's brother.
