Drohobych community welcomes home fallen defender Mykhailo Prystai

The Drohobych community has received the body of fallen defender of Ukraine Mykhailo Prystai, a resident of the village of Bolekhivtsi. His death was officially confirmed after more than a year of being listed as missing in action.

Mykhailo Prystai was born on 19 November 1975 and lived in Bolekhivtsi. After obtaining a vocational education, he worked at the Drill Plant. In November 2024 he was mobilised into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where he carried out combat missions on the front line as part of military unit A4594.

Since 4 May 2025 the serviceman had been considered missing in action. Only now has his death been officially confirmed, which has made it possible to bring the defender’s body home. Mykhailo Prystai is survived by his mother and his brother with his family.

The cortege bearing the body of the fallen soldier was met at the Heroes’ Crossroads in Drohobych, after which it was taken to his native Bolekhivtsi. A parastas is scheduled to take place at his family home the same day at 19:00.

The funeral service for Mykhailo Prystai will be held on 13 September at 13:30 in the Church of the Resurrection of the Lord in the village of Bolekhivtsi. The Drohobych community extends its condolences to the family and friends of the fallen soldier and shares in their grief at this loss.
