Drohobych Honored the Memory of Fallen Defender Yuriy Varlamov

In the war with the Russian aggressor, Drohobych resident Yuriy Varlamov, who was defending Ukraine’s borders since July 2024, was killed.

Yuriy Varlamov was born on April 8, 1979, in Drohobych and worked as a plumber. Since July 2024, he joined the ranks of Ukraine’s defenders, trained in Poland, and diligently served in the military unit A5006.

The warrior’s life ended on October 8, 2024, during a combat mission in the Donetsk region. The soldier was long considered missing, and only now has his death been officially confirmed. The hero’s body was returned for burial.

*Today, a funeral convoy* met with the fallen warrior’s body at the Heroes’ Intersection. After a joint prayer, the procession moved to Rynok Square for a city-wide farewell. The defender will be buried at the Avenue of Glory.
