The ranks of the heavenly battalion were joined by two residents of the Drohobych community – Ivan Cherkhovskyi and Roman Havryliak.
At the Heroes’ Crossroads, funeral processions took place, gathering family members, friends, comrades, and community residents. Clergy members conducted a brief prayer for the souls of the fallen warriors. The cortege with the body of Ivan Cherkhovskyi headed to the village of Dolishniy Luhok, where a Parastas will be held at 19:00. The hero’s funeral will take place tomorrow in the local church at 10:00.
The cortege with the body of Roman Havryliak proceeded to the chapel of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary church, where a Parastas will also be held at 19:00. His funeral will take place tomorrow at 11:00 at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
“Ivan Cherkhovskyi stood up to defend Ukraine in 2023”, the report stated. He was a master of the drone aviation complex unit and died while performing a combat mission.
“Roman Havryliak served in the border troops and once again stood up to defend his homeland in 2022”, community representatives added. His heart stopped during his military service duties.
