Anti-aircraft interceptor drone crews of the Shkval rapid reaction border commandant’s office are working around the clock to detect and destroy reconnaissance and strike UAVs of the Russian occupation forces.
According to the border guards, various types of enemy targets come into the unit’s sights: from strike FPV drones to high-value ZALA reconnaissance platforms. They also shoot down loitering munitions of the “wing” (“Italmass”) type, Orlan, Lancet, “knyaz veshchiy Oleg” drones and other aerial assets with which the enemy terrorises both Ukrainian troops and the civilian population.
Ukraine’s Defence Forces stress that such enemy drones must be detected and destroyed as quickly and on as large a scale as possible, as they pose a significant threat on the battlefield and in frontline regions.
The Shkval rapid reaction border commandant’s office is part of the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment and is engaged in defending both Ukrainian territory and its airspace.
