Service personnel of the 110th Separate Mechanised Brigade named after Brigadier General Marko Bezruchko have received two new MAUL ground robotic systems from Ukrainian manufacturer NUMO Robotics. The total value of these systems is UAH 2,220,000.
The procurement was organised on a co-funding basis. The Lviv regional budget allocated UAH 1 million under a programme to support volunteer organisations and manufacturing enterprises. A further UAH 1,220,000 was raised by the Mylist Charity Foundation with the involvement of international donors from the USA, Canada and Spain.
“This is exactly how our support programme for manufacturers and volunteer organisations in the Lviv region works, where the region can reimburse up to 50% of the cost of products manufactured for the armed forces (but no more than UAH 1 million). As a result, the manufacturer receives orders, volunteers can meet a greater share of the demand, and the military receive more of the equipment they need. And this is not an isolated example. We have already approved 47 such joint applications totalling over UAH 34.6 million for the production of goods to meet the needs of Defenders, both men and women. The MAUL ground robotic systems are designed to operate directly near the front line. They enable the evacuation of seriously and moderately wounded personnel, as well as the delivery of ammunition, food and water to units.
Key features of these systems include an armoured capsule for the safe transport of wounded soldiers and continuous voice communication between the operator and the fighter, allowing their condition to be monitored. In addition, MAUL offers high speed, a substantial operating range and runs on fuel, ensuring rapid refuelling and the ability to carry out several missions in succession during the day.
