Yurii Ostashevskyi had been considered missing for a long time. It recently became known that the serviceman was killed on February 9, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Bilohorivka in Luhansk region.
The warrior served as a soldier in the 3rd Separate Heavy Mechanized “Iron” Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

While carrying out a combat mission near the city of Sloviansk in Kramatorsk district, Donetsk region, the soldier sustained serious injuries as a result of an enemy UAV attack. Medics fought for the defender’s life, but they were unable to save him.
