The awarding ceremony took place recently in Kyiv.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi has awarded medals “For Military Service to Ukraine” and “To the Defender of the Fatherland” to two servicemen of the 7th Carpathian Border Guard Detachment: Senior Lieutenant Taras Kolpakov and Senior Soldier Zinovii Hrabovyi for personal courage in defending the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Senior Lieutenant Taras Kolpakov devoted almost seven years of his life to serving in the Border Guard Agency. The officer performed tasks in the hottest areas of Donetsk region. The border guard also showed high performance during his service on the western border.
Taras Kolpakov was awarded the Defender of the Fatherland medal.
Senior soldier Zinoviy Hrabovyi joined the Border Guard Agency in February 2022. The soldier went through heavy battles in Bakhmut, organised the evacuation of his comrades-in-arms, and covered a section of the Ukrainian-Belarusian border.
Zinoviy Hrabovyi was awarded the medal “For Military Service to Ukraine”.
