The honorary “Order of Courage” (III degree) was bestowed upon two fallen soldiers from the Mykolaiv community of Lviv Oblast. The awards were handed over to their families in tribute to their bravery:
🕯️ Oleh Vikonskyi
Born in Mykolaiv, Lviv Oblast, Oleh Vikonskyi volunteered to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion. He fought in fierce battles in the Mykolaiv and Kherson regions, serving as a senior driver in the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade. Oleh tragically lost his life on December 25, 2022, during a mission in Bakhmut, Donetsk Oblast. He was 42 years old.
🕯️ Volodymyr Kozar
Hailing from the village of Hirske in the Mykolaiv community, Volodymyr Kozar joined Ukraine’s Armed Forces at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. He participated in combat operations in the Kyiv, Kherson, Luhansk, and Donetsk directions. As a gunner with the 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade, Volodymyr fell in action on March 10, 2023, during a mission near the village of Dibrova in Luhansk Oblast. He was 47 years old.
