Two defenders from the Lviv region were awarded high state honors, unfortunately, posthumously.
Taras Salo was born in Lviv. In 2023, he voluntarily joined the ‘Safari’ regiment, in which he fought in the Donetsk region. Last June, the warrior sustained severe injuries while on a combat mission near Toretsk. Unfortunately, he passed away in the hospital. By order of the National Police of Ukraine, Taras Salo was also posthumously awarded the rank of police major.
Andriy Pavlyk was born in Turka. In 2015, he began his service in the National Police of Ukraine. In 2023, our compatriot voluntarily joined the assault regiment ‘Safari,’ participating in fierce battles in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. This January, during a combat mission near Toretsk, Andriy Pavlyk was killed by enemy fire.
Both warriors were awarded the President of Ukraine’s distinction ‘For the Defense of Ukraine’ and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces ‘Combatant Cross.’
Eternal honor and memory to the fallen Heroes. Sincere condolences to their family and friends.
