Today in the Horodok district a mourning cortege bearing the body of the fallen defender from Mshana, Denys Mota, will be received. The procession is expected to arrive at the central square of Horodok at 12:00, after which the warrior will be taken to his native village.
According to the preliminary plan, at around 12:20–12:30 the cortege will be met in Mshana near the turn to the stadium and escorted to his parents’ home. Residents of the community are asked to join in paying tribute to the fallen serviceman.
It is reported that under tragic circumstances, Mshana native Denys Mota (21.10.2002–26.08.2026) was killed. Despite his young age, from the first days of the full-scale invasion he stood up to defend Ukraine. A senior sergeant of the 42nd Separate Mechanised Brigade, he served in the Pokrovsk sector and died while returning from leave to his combat positions.
Together with his large family, comrades-in-arms, friends and fellow villagers, the community is going through a heavy loss. The fallen warrior is survived by his wife, parents, sister and grandmothers.
The report stresses that the defender’s short but meaningful life is an example for his contemporaries and future generations, and that it is everyone’s duty to preserve a grateful memory of Denys Mota and of all Ukrainian warriors.
