Lviv Region communities allocate almost UAH 2.7 billion for war needs over seven months

In the first seven months of 2026, communities in Lviv Region allocated almost UAH 2.7 billion for needs related to russia’s armed aggression. According to the Head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, this spending accounts for more than 10.7% of all local budget expenditures, excluding targeted transfers.

The share of funds for defence and war-related needs varies significantly between communities. The highest proportion of such expenditures in the overall volume of their budgets was recorded in:

  • Sokilnyky community – 35.1%;
  • Pidberiztsi community – 26.5%;
  • Morshyn community – 24.3%;
  • Zabolottsi community – 18.7%;
  • Bibrka community – 18.4%.

In addition, over the same period, more than UAH 744 million was allocated from the regional budget of Lviv Region for defence needs, which represents 17.4% of all regional expenditures.

At the same time, there are communities where the share of defence spending remains relatively low. In particular, this applies to:

  • Rudky community – 2.5%;
  • Biskovychi community – 2.7%;
  • Pidkamin community – 2.7%;
  • Sambir community – 2.8%;
  • Peremyshliany community – 3.0%.

What is encouraging, however, is that even in these communities the share of expenditures on war-related needs is increasing compared with previous budget periods, noted Maksym Kozytskyi.

More detailed figures on defence-related expenditures for each community in Lviv Region have been published in open access by the relevant regional bodies.
