The Horodok district suffered another loss: defender Volodymyr Mykhailovych Kalmuk has passed away.
Volodymyr Kalmuk, born on February 27, 1957, participated in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) since 2014. In 2016, after being severely wounded, he was discharged and settled in Irpin. With the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion, he once again defended Ukraine as part of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade. After the liberation of Kyiv region and due to injuries, he left the service. His life ended on April 26, 2025.
Volodymyr is survived by two sons who are also defending Ukraine. We share the sorrow of his loss with them, his relatives, fellow villagers, and comrades.
The warrior’s homecoming in Horodok will take place tomorrow, May 20, at 11:00. The Hero will be laid to rest on the same day in his family’s village of Drozdovychi.
