It is with deep sorrow that we inform you that our community is bidding farewell to the Hero of Ukraine Bohdan Havrylov, who gave his life defending the independence and territorial integrity of our country.
The Hero’s life story
Bohdan Havrylov was born on 3 August 1980 in Chortkiv, Ternopil region. Later, his family moved to Novoyavorivsk, where he began his schooling. He studied at the Novoyavoriv Secondary School No. 3 of the I-III levels.
Since childhood, he had a great passion for football and dreamed of achieving significant success in this sport. After graduating from school, he did his military service in Kharkiv. After returning to civilian life, he worked at various construction sites.
Service and heroic deeds
On 13 June 2024, Bohdan stood up to defend Ukraine as part of the 95th separate air assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to his comrades-in-arms and family, he often spoke of his dream of raising the Ukrainian flag on the land of the invader.
On 24 August 2024, while performing a combat mission, Bohdan went missing. After a lengthy search, on 24 February 2025, he was identified by DNA examination and officially declared dead.

Our Hero is survived by his mother Maria Vasylivna, sisters Iryna and Karolina, and brother Vasyl.
Farewell to the Hero
The community will pay tribute to the fallen defender:
- 27 February at 10:30 – a prayer meeting at the monument to Mazepa on S. Bandera Street
- 27 February at 11:00 – funeral service in the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul
- The burial will take place in the town cemetery of Novoyavorivsk
