Ihor Bilyk from the village of Dobrohstiv in the Truskavets community has returned home “on the shield” and will be laid to rest in his native village. The farewell to the soldier took place at the Crossroads of Heroes, where people honoured his service to Ukraine with prayer and on bended knee.
The death of the soldier-defender occurred on 5 May this year near the settlement of Novoyakovlivka in the Zaporizhzhia sector of the front. According to the report, Ihor Bilyk died at an observation post while on active military duty.
Bilyk Ihor Petrovych, born in 1971, was mobilised about a year and a half ago, in September 2024. He served as a senior rifleman-flamethrower in a motorised infantry battalion of military unit A4955.
The funeral services are planned in Dobrohstiv. A parastas for the blessed memory of soldier Ihor Bilyk will be held on 25 May at 19:00, and the funeral will take place on Tuesday, 26 May at 12:00.
