Ihor Len from Zabolottia in Lviv region returns home on his shield on March 11

The Belz community has announced with deep sorrow the death of Ukrainian serviceman Ihor Volodymyrovych Len, born in 1993, a resident of the village of Zabolottia. The defender gave his life in the struggle for Ukraine’s freedom, independence, and future.

Ihor Len served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He carried out combat missions in a unit of unmanned aerial systems and remained faithful to his military oath and duty to the country until the very end.

On March 3, 2026, near the settlement of Viroliubivka in Donetsk region, the soldier was killed while performing a combat mission. His life was cut short as a result of an enemy FPV drone strike.

The fallen Hero is survived by:

  • his mother Nataliia
  • his father Volodymyr
  • his brother Roman

For the family, this is an irreparable loss, and for the entire community, a source of profound grief.

On March 11, 2026, Ihor Len will return to his native home on his shield. Departure from the morgue in Lviv is tentatively scheduled for 10:30 a.m.

The funeral cortege will follow this route:

  • Lviv
  • Velyki Mosty
  • Sheptytskyi
  • Murovane
  • Zhuzheliany
  • Zabolottia

The estimated arrival time in the village of Zabolottia is around 12:00 p.m.

After arriving at his family home, a memorial service will be held. The mourning procession will then move to the church in Zabolottia. The defender will be buried at the local cemetery in the village.

Ihor Len gave the most precious thing he had — his life — for Ukraine, for freedom, and for a peaceful future. His feat will remain forever in the memory of the community, and his name will live on in the hearts of the people he defended.
