The Sokal community has received the fourth tragic notice this week. 🕯️
While carrying out a combat mission to defend Ukraine’s territorial integrity, Ihor Yaroslavovych Mushko, a resident of Trudoliubivka, was killed on February 17, 2026 in Sydorove, Kramatorsk district, Donetsk region.
He served as a Senior Sergeant in the following unit structure:
- 1st self-propelled artillery platoon
- 2nd self-propelled artillery battery
- 2nd self-propelled artillery battalion
- military unit A 2943
Life and background
Ihor Mushko was born on January 12, 1977 in the village of Teliazh. He attended the local school and later received vocational training at a Sokal vocational school. After graduation, he completed mandatory military service.
He later married Tetiana, and the couple raised two daughters, Diana and Nina.
Service and award
He was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine on August 27, 2024. He served on demanding front-line directions and remained faithful to the Military Oath until his last day.
For his courage and bravery, he was awarded the high distinction “Golden Cross” on August 19, 2025.

Sincere condolences are extended to his wife Tetiana, daughters Diana and Nina, mother Liudmyla Petrivna, father Yaroslav Romanovych, sister Svitlana, brother Oleksandr, and to all relatives, friends, and brothers-in-arms.
