Today the Belz community bid farewell to Ivan Olehovych Holub, a resident of the village of Sebechiv. Ivan had been serving in the military since May 2024, and on 19 April 2026, he passed away in the city of Sloviansk in the Kramatorsk District of the Donetsk region.
In the house where his footsteps were heard just yesterday, today silence and sorrow prevail. His wife awaited his return with warm embraces but instead met with grief. His mother, hopeful for a hug and his familiar voice, encountered unspeakable pain. The children awaited their father alive, smiling, with encouraging words. Grandchildren, for whom their grandfather was the epitome of kindness, lost a piece of their world.
Our community today prayed and in silent gratitude reminisced about a person who was part of our lives. Ivan was not only a soldier but also a family man with a home, dreams, and concerns. The bright memory of him will remain a luminous trace of love, which can no longer be returned.
