Ivan Pryimych from Drohobych Killed in Combat on the Bakhmut Front

A defender of Ukraine, resident of Drohobych, Ivan Pryimych, once again took up arms to defend his homeland following the large-scale invasion on 3 March 2022. He was engaged in combat missions as part of his brigade. Ivan’s life was tragically cut short on 24 April 2024 due to artillery shelling near the settlement of Bohdanivka.

Born on 19 June 1972, Ivan lived in Drohobych on Sambirska Street. He attended Secondary School No. 5, graduated from Secondary School No. 17, and Technical Vocational School No. 15, and worked in the construction industry. During the military conflicts in eastern Ukraine from 2017 to 2020, he served in the 24th Separate Mechanised Brigade as an artillery gunner.

After being reported missing, his death has only now been officially confirmed. His family, including his mother, two sons, brother, and sister, are left to mourn this loss. The Drohobych City Council and its leadership extend their condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of this defender.
