An official ceremony was held in the Lviv region to hand over humanitarian aid to units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. The Latvian foundation “Entrepreneurs for Peace” has provided Ukrainian border guards with seven vehicles for work on the border.
The event took place in the area of responsibility of the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment as part of international support for the State Border Guard Service amid the ongoing armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
The vehicles received will be used to meet the needs of the units, to protect the state border and to carry out operational and combat tasks. The State Border Guard Service notes that the new vehicles will enhance the mobility of border guards and enable them to respond more swiftly to emerging challenges.
During the ceremony, Deputy Head of the Department for International Cooperation and European Integration of the Administration of the State Border Guard Service Yaroslav Vyniarskyi thanked the Latvian partners for their constant support of Ukraine.
“We traditionally meet with you when receiving another tranche of support from our Latvian friends. It is very important for us to feel you standing by our side, as this helps us to perform our work more effectively and to bring our shared victory over the aggressor closer. Thank you for your support,” said Yaroslav Vyniarskyi
The agency emphasises that the transfer of vehicles is another tangible result of the long-standing cooperation between the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and its Latvian partners. Latvia’s support strengthens the capabilities of border units that defend the state border and counter the armed aggression of the Russian Federation every day.
