Lopatyn community bids farewell to Nazar Maibroda from Smorzhiv killed in Sumy region

With deep sorrow, the Lopatyn territorial community reports the death of Ukrainian defender Nazar Maibroda, a resident of the village of Smorzhiv.

Born in 1995, Nazar Maibroda served as a sapper in the engineer-sapper company of military unit A0284. He had been listed as missing in action since May 28, 2025. It was later confirmed that he was killed near Bilousivka in the Sumy district of the Sumy region, giving his life in defense of Ukraine against Russian aggression.

The community extends sincere condolences to the family, relatives, and friends of the fallen Hero. His courage, devotion, and sacrifice will forever remain in the memory of his fellow villagers.

Farewell and burial details:

  • January 19, 2026, at 3:00 PM — the funeral convoy will depart from the town of Radekhiv to Smorzhiv;
  • estimated arrival in Smorzhiv — 4:00 PM;
  • the funeral service will take place on January 20, 2026, at 12:00 PM.

Residents are encouraged to come out and honor the Defender on his final journey, paying tribute to his sacrifice for Ukraine.
