On 19 May, Lviv will say goodbye to the Hero Kostiantyn Mytoshop

Kostyantyn Mytoshop, a defender of Ukraine, was killed in action against the Russian invaders, and on 19 May Lviv will say goodbye to the Hero.

Born in Svitlovodsk, Kostiantyn graduated as a mechanical engineer, worked at a carriage plant and abroad. In Lviv, where he moved with his wife, he worked at the Cardboard and Paper Company. His family remembers him as a man of “conscientiousness, friendliness and joy”. He was fond of sports and coin collecting.

On 24 February 2022, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the defenders on the first day of the full-scale invasion. He served as a reconnaissance diver and later mastered the speciality of a UAV operator. As a member of the 141st separate mechanised brigade, he defended Kherson, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia and Donbas regions. He died in the fourth year of combat operations, leaving behind a heroic example of courage.

The funeral will begin at the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul, followed by a ceremony on Rynok Square. The defender will be buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery, on the field of honourary burials of the newest Heroes. Lviv City Hall calls on residents to “refrain from celebrations and entertainment to honour the soldier’s memory.” Kostiantyn is survived by his mother, wife, daughter and brother.
