Today, during another prisoner exchange, Lviv resident Ivan Lyakh returned home. This was announced by Maksym Kozytskyi, the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
Ivan Lyakh was captured in January 2024 near the village of Synkivka in the Kharkiv region.
The head of the Lviv Regional Administration congratulated the soldier on his return and expressed his gratitude for his service:
“Ivan, welcome back. Thank you for everything you have done for our country. May all Ukrainian families be reunited with their loved ones.”
Prisoner exchanges remain a vital humanitarian mission, enabling Ukrainian defenders to reunite with their families after long periods in captivity. The Lviv region continues to support military families and facilitate their safe return home.
