
28th April in Lviv will see a farewell ceremony for military servicemen Hryhoriy Podolyak and Artur Kukharskyi, who died defending the country from Russian aggressors. The city council appeals to Lviv residents and visitors to join the event and avoid entertainment activities at this time.
Farewell to Artur Kukharskyi can be paid at 09:00 at the Church of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist in Vynnyky. The funeral service for both defenders will take place at 11:00 in the Garrison Church of Sts. Apostles Peter and Paul, followed by a city-wide ceremony in Rynok Square. Both soldiers will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery at the field of honourable burials No. 87.
Hryhoriy Podolyak, a native of Lviv, was born on 16th September 1985. He studied at Lyceum No. 21 and pursued law. He was a participant in the ATO and JFO, defending Ukraine in operations on the Mykolaiv and Southern Slobozhanske fronts. He was awarded the “For the Defence of Ukraine” medal and the “Distinction of Honour”.
Artur Kukharskyi, born in the town of Vynnyky, was born on 12th December 1998. He studied at the “Berehynia” school and served with the 24th Brigade. He was also awarded the “For the Defence of Ukraine” medal.
