
On Thursday, 9th April, Lviv will honour the memory of servicemen Andriy Midzyanovskyi and Yevhen Babii, who died defending Ukraine from Russian occupiers. The city council urges Lviv residents and visitors to join the farewell ceremony and refrain from entertainment activities.
The funeral service will commence at 11:00 at the Garrison Church of Sts. Peter and Paul. Following this, at 11:30, a citywide farewell ceremony will take place at Rynok Square. Andriy Midzyanovskyi will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery, and Yevhen Babii at the cemetery in Lysynychi.
Yevhen Babii, a native of the village of Ustia, was a car mechanic and engaged in entrepreneurial activities. In 2025, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Andriy Midzyanovskyi, originally from Almaty, served in the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and was a participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation. He was awarded distinctions for his participation in the anti-terrorist operation.
