Lviv to Bid Farewell to Soldiers Bohdan Petrus and Yuriy Kuznyetsov

Why is it important for the people of Lviv to attend this event? This 21st April, Lviv will pay deep respects to two servicemen — Bohdan Petrus and Yuriy Kuznyetsov, who died defending Ukraine’s independence from aggression. The local authorities encourage both residents and visitors to join the farewell ceremony and to refrain from any celebrations during the event.

The farewell to the soldiers will begin at the Garrison Church of Saints Peter and Paul at 11:00 am. The event will continue at Rynok Square at 11:30 am. The soldiers will be buried in different locations: Bohdan Petrus at Lychakiv Cemetery, while Yuriy Kuznyetsov at Riasne Cemetery.

Bohdan Petrus was born in Lviv, where he finished school and vocational school, later working as a locksmith. In 2023, he took up arms to defend Ukraine. The soldier fought with honour in the Mykolayiv and Kherson directions.

Yuriy Kuznyetsov, also from Lviv, studied and worked in the construction industry. Since 2025, he participated in the defence of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk and Southern Slobozhansky directions.
