Lviv Bids Farewell to Ukraine’s Defenders on 18 May

18 May in Lviv will see a farewell ceremony for Ukraine’s defenders. The city’s residents will accompany Yuriy Yarovenko, Ivan Kot, and Zinoviy Soltys on their final journey, as they bravely defended their native land from Russian occupiers. The city authorities urge the residents of Lviv to join the ceremony and show respect by refraining from entertainment activities.

The funeral service for Yuriy Yarovenko will commence at 11:00 at the Garrison Church of Sts. Peter and Paul. The general farewell ceremony will take place at 11:30 in Market Square, following which the burial will be at Lychakiv Cemetery. The funeral of soldier Ivan Kot will be held in the village of Velyke Kolodne at 12:10, with a requiem service at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary UGCC in the city of Dubliany at 14:15. The burial will also take place there.

Farewell to Zinoviy Soltys will begin at 11:30 at the family home in the village of Zashkiv. Afterwards, the funeral service will be held at the Church of the Archangel Michael, with the burial taking place at the cemetery in the village of Zashkiv.
