Lviv Bids Farewell to Soldier Mykola Sotnyk

On Saturday, 18th April, Lviv will honour the memory of serviceman Mykola Sotnyk, who died defending Ukraine against Russian forces. The city council urges residents and visitors to participate in the farewell ceremony while refraining from leisure activities.

The farewell to the hero will begin at 11:00 at the Garrison Church of Sts. Peter and Paul. At 11:30, a citywide ceremony will take place at Rynok Square. Mykola Sotnyk will be buried at the Holoskiv Cemetery, plot 34-V.

Mykola Sotnyk (27.02.1989 — 11.04.2026) was a native of Lviv. He was educated at Lviv Secondary School and Drohobych Training Centre No. 40. He worked as a florist and was passionate about computer technology and gardening. He participated in the ATO and JFO, defending Ukraine’s sovereignty as part of the 110th and 58th brigades. He was awarded the Presidential Distinction “For Participation in ATO.”
