A Lviv delegation visited Mykolaiv and Kherson regions, where Russian forces are now actively using drones. According to those who took part in the trip, up to 22,000 enemy FPV drones are recorded in Kherson region each month, of which Ukrainian forces manage to shoot down around 21,000. The enemy drones attack people and vehicles indiscriminately.
In the south, meetings were held with the commander of the 30th Marine Corps, Major General Dmytro Deliatytskyi, servicemen of the 34th Borisfen Marine Brigade, the 426th Separate Marine Unmanned Systems Regiment, fighters of the River Flotilla and border guards. The delegation also inspected a workshop where Ukrainian drones are repaired and returned to service.
Special attention during the trip was paid to residents of Lviv serving in various units in southern Ukraine. This year, Lviv marks its 770th anniversary, and to mark the occasion, defenders from Lviv were honoured for their service far from their home city. During the meetings, the military were asked about their needs, with an emphasis that Lviv remembers them, is waiting for them and supports them, remaining a reliable rear for them.
As part of the working trip, agreements were reached with the head of Odesa Regional State Administration, Oleh Kiper: the regional administration will double part of Lviv's procurement for military units based in Odesa region. This format of cooperation should make it possible to meet more requests from the units holding the line in the south.
In Mykolaiv, the Lviv side met with the city mayor, Oleksandr Sienkevych, and veterans from Mykolaiv region who had undergone rehabilitation at the UNBROKEN centre in Lviv. It is emphasised that Mykolaiv is currently living under constant shelling, yet continues to function.
The resilience of the people of Mykolaiv is an example for the whole of Ukraine. I thank everyone who is holding Ukraine's south.
