
Lviv region will receive UAH 500.8 million from the state budget as monetary compensation for housing for Ukraine’s defenders and their family members. This was reported by the Department of Finance of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
On 13 May 2026, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted Order No.448-r on the distribution of a subvention from the state budget to local budgets for the payment of monetary compensation for housing premises to which recipients are entitled.
The compensation is provided for certain categories of persons who defended the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as for their family members. In particular, this concerns the families of fallen (deceased) Defenders of Ukraine, including volunteers, and the families of service personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, other military formations and law enforcement agencies.
The right to such compensation is also granted to persons with disabilities in groups I–II who took part in the anti-terrorist operation, measures to ensure national security and defence, repulsion and deterrence of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and who require improved housing conditions.
The funds allocated for Lviv region will be distributed by the principal spending unit — the Veterans’ Policy Department of the Lviv Regional State Administration. The funding will be directed to local territorial communities in accordance with the Procedure and conditions for providing the subvention, approved by Resolution No.719 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of 19 October 2016 (as amended).
