Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians pause for a moment of silence to honor the memory of those who gave their lives defending Ukraine from Russian aggression.
Today, the Lviv region mourns the loss of Roman Petryk, a defender who sacrificed his life for the freedom and independence of his homeland.
Roman Petryk was born in the village of Oselya in the Yavoriv district. After completing his education, he served in the military on active duty in Khmelnytskyi.
With the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Roman joined the ranks of Ukraine’s defenders, fulfilling his duty with courage as part of the 5th Separate Rifle Battalion of the 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade. His service included critical combat missions on the Zaporizhzhia frontline.
On July 20, 2024, the warrior’s life was tragically cut short.
Eternal glory to the Hero and to all who have fallen for a free Ukraine. 🕊️
