Lviv region bids farewell to 45-year-old Taras Zhuk from Pidbirtsi, who died defending Ukraine

Today, the Lviv region honors the memory of another Hero who gave his life for the freedom and independence of Ukraine — Taras Zhuk, a native of the village of Pidbirtsi.

Following the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, Taras volunteered to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 44th Separate Rifle Battalion, which is part of the 115th Separate Mechanized Brigade. He fought the enemy bravely until his final breath.

Sadly, Taras died on April 4. Just three days later, on April 7, he would have turned 46.

Every day at 9:00 a.m., Ukraine observes a nationwide moment of silence in memory of the fallen. Wherever you are, take a pause to honor those who died defending our homeland.

Eternal glory to the Hero. May the memory of all the fallen live forever.
