Every day at 9:00 AM, Ukraine honors the memory of those who gave their lives for freedom and independence. Today, the Lviv region mourns four heroes who died while performing combat missions:
🕯️ Vitalii Chernikov
A native of Drohobych. At the onset of the full-scale invasion, he voluntarily joined the defense of Ukraine. He served as a grenadier in the “Shkval” assault company of military unit A4945. Vitalii died on January 9 near Pokrovsk, Donetsk region. He was 35 years old.
🕯️ Andrii Bednarchyk
A resident of Pustomyty, Lviv district. He served in the 67th Separate Mechanized Brigade, military unit A4123. Andrii was killed on January 11 while carrying out a mission near Zhuravka in the Sumy region. He was 33 years old.
🕯️ Dmytro Hanzha
Originally from Kramatorsk, Donetsk region. In 2014, he relocated to Lviv with his family. After the full-scale invasion began, he joined the 125th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade under the “West” regional command. Dmytro carried out missions in the Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions. He died on January 10. He was 46 years old.
🕯️ Volodymyr Matskiv
A native of Lviv. From the early days of the invasion, he joined the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade. Volodymyr served in Luhansk region, where he died on January 11. He was 55 years old.
