Every day at 9:00 a.m., Ukraine observes a nationwide moment of silence — a time when citizens are urged to pause and honor the memory of all those who gave their lives defending the country from Russian aggression.
Today, the Lviv region says goodbye to two heroes from Zolochiv District whose lives were cut short by the war:
-
Ihor Huda — resident of the village of Bilyi Kamin. Served as an assistant grenade launcher operator in the 3rd squad of the 2nd rifle platoon of the reserve rifle company, military unit No. 3051. He was on a combat mission near the settlement of Zhelanne in Donetsk region. Missing in action since August 1, 2024, his death was confirmed on August 6, 2025. He was 35 years old.
-
Vasyl Cherkavskyi — resident of the village of Luka. Served as a rifleman-machine gunner. He died on July 31, 2025, during fighting near Pokrovsk in Donetsk region. He was 40 years old.
Eternal memory and honor to the soldiers who gave their lives for Ukraine. Deepest condolences to their families and loved ones.
