Every day at 9:00 a.m., Ukraine observes a nationwide minute of silence to honor the memory of all those who gave their lives defending the country against Russian aggression. Today, the Lviv region bids farewell to five fallen Heroes.
🕯️ Serhii Sachivko
A resident of Brody in Zolochiv district. He joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine following the start of the full-scale invasion. He served as a chemical driver in a radiation, chemical, and biological protection platoon. Since June 29, 2024, he had been reported missing in action. His death was later confirmed. Serhii died while performing a combat mission near the village of Sokil in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region. He was 53 years old.
🕯️ Oleksii Kit
Born in Chișinău, Republic of Moldova, Oleksii lived and worked in Ukraine. He joined the defense forces at the beginning of the invasion. He served in the 540th Anti-Aircraft Missile Lviv Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky, and also in the southern Slobozhansky direction with the 3rd company of the “Materyk” battalion, attached to the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians. He was awarded the “Golden Cross” badge by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Oleksii died on September 22.
🕯️ Oksana Koziulia
Originally from the village of Shatsk in the Volyn region. After the invasion began, she moved to Lviv and continued her service with the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, later joining the Western Regional Department. Oksana was awarded the medals for “10 Years of Faithful Service” and “15 Years of Faithful Service.” Her heart stopped on September 25.
🕯️ Ivan Koftaliv
A resident of Rudnyky village in the Mykolaiv community of Stryi district. He went missing in January 2025 during a combat mission near the village of Kurakhove in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region. His body was identified and confirmed in September 2025.
🕯️ Volodymyr Kindii
A resident of Novyi Rozdil in the Stryi district. He served in military unit A4862. Volodymyr was killed on September 22 during a combat mission near the village of Yablunivka in Sumy region.
