Lviv Region Develops Veteran Reintegration Strategy

The Lviv Regional Council is working on a strategy for the reintegration of veterans and their families.

On September 30, the Lviv Regional Council heard information on the implementation of the policy of social reintegration of combatants. This includes social support for the families of fallen servicemen and those missing in action or taken prisoner.

“Our priority is to assist veterans and their families. We are working to ensure that military personnel returning from war can return to their previous jobs or find other employment. To this end, we are implementing a retraining and job search program in collaboration with the Lviv Regional Employment Center,” said Maxim Fetisov, head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration’s department for veteran policy.

The structural units of the Lviv Regional Military Administration presented the main directions of their activities aimed at supporting veterans and their families. The discussion covered opportunities in the fields of social protection, healthcare, education, economy, and others. They also talked about state programs for servicemen, particularly regarding housing provision.

Deputies instructed the Lviv Regional Military Administration, together with the regional council, to develop a Strategy for the Social Reintegration of Combatants and Their Families for 2026 – 2031.
