
Lviv Region has become a pilot in implementing an experimental project for medical and psychological support for veterans with disorders related to the use of psychoactive substances.
The Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated February 11, 2026, was approved. A meeting with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Veterans’ Affairs, Ruslan Prykhodko, and the head of the Coordination Center at LOVA, advisor to the region’s head, Halyna Bordun, took place the day before.
\”Lviv Region has been operating as a pilot region of the Ministry of Veterans since October 2025,\” noted Halyna Bordun. She added that a separate strategy is being developed here to accompany veterans with addictions as part of a comprehensive support for the veteran and his family.
The experimental project involves a comprehensive approach that combines medical, psychological, psychiatric, and social assistance. \”Special emphasis was placed on working with veterans’ families,\” emphasized Halyna Bordun.
On February 27, 2026, an extended working meeting is planned in Lviv with the participation of service providers, representatives of territorial communities, civil society organizations, support specialists, and partners.
