Lviv region bids farewell to three fallen defenders

In the Lviv region, the death of three servicemen has been reported – Roman Heletskyi, Oleh Vilkiv and Mykhailo Dobrovolskyi, who were carrying out combat missions in the east and north-east of Ukraine.

Roman Heletskyi was a native of the town of Zhydachiv in the Stryi district. He served as a flamethrower operator in the 2nd flamethrower squad of the flamethrower platoon of military unit A5092 A4945. For a long time, the serviceman was considered missing in action. It is known that he was killed on 21 June 2024 while on a combat mission near the settlement of Staromaiorske in Donetsk region. The defender was 38 years old.

Oleh Vilkiv came from the village of Drohovyzh in the Mykolaiv community. He served in military unit A2582 as part of the 82nd Separate Air Assault Brigade. While carrying out a combat mission near the town of Vovchansk in Kharkiv region, the soldier was wounded. After that, he underwent a long period of treatment and rehabilitation. The warrior’s heart stopped on 16 August, when he was 46 years old.

Mykhailo Dobrovolskyi was a resident of the village of Voiutychi in the Biskovychi community. He served as the senior sergeant of the 5th mechanised company of the 2nd mechanised battalion of military unit A5006. As in the case of Roman Heletskyi, Mykhailo Dobrovolskyi was considered missing in action for a long time. It later became known that he was killed on 21 October 2024 near the settlement of Novodmytrivka in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region.
