Lviv Regional Council Strengthens Social Protection for Families of the Deceased

The Lviv Regional Council has made a decision to strengthen the social protection of families of deceased war veterans and Defenders of Ukraine.

At the second plenary meeting of the XXVII extraordinary session, deputies of the Lviv Regional Council decided on strengthening social protection for families of deceased (deceased) war veterans, Defenders, Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, and affected participants of the Revolution of Dignity. As reported by the acting director of the Department of Social Protection of the Population of Lviv Regional State Administration, Tetiana Krut, within the framework of the Comprehensive Social Support Program (2021–2025), measures worth over 203 million UAH have already been financed.

Specifically, over 51 million UAH were directed to payments for children of deceased defenders, war veterans, and participants of the Revolution of Dignity. More than 80 million UAH were spent on establishing memorial signs on the graves of Heroes. Over 18 million UAH were allocated for purchasing housing for participants of the ATO/OSS and families of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. Approximately 10 million UAH were provided to the families of deceased Defenders and Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred.

Deputies highlighted the need for further preservation and expansion of programs. In particular, the session recommended increasing targeted assistance to families of the deceased and affected participants of the Revolution of Dignity from 5 to 10 thousand UAH. Additionally, the possibility of appointing social assistance to children of prisoners of war and missing persons is being considered.
