Posthumous Awarding of Roman Yavorsky with a Medal

The Medal ‘For Military Service to Ukraine’ (posthumously) was awarded to our fellow countryman, 21-year-old Roman Yavorsky.

Today, 22 servicemen of the Western Operational Territorial Unit of the National Guard of Ukraine were posthumously awarded high state honors. Together with General Stepan Logush, the awards to the relatives of the Heroes were presented by the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi. The Medal ‘For Military Service to Ukraine’ (posthumously) was received by the mother and sister of 21-year-old Roman Yavorsky.

Roman served as an operator-gunner in the first platoon of the 15th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine. On July 15, 2023, the Defender died at a field surgical hospital in Zaporizhzhia from injuries sustained during a combat mission.
