Mayor in Lviv region used Audi Q7 worth 4.2 million UAH registered to his daughter — court orders confiscation

On September 29, 2025, the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) fully granted the claim of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) regarding the civil confiscation of a 2023 Audi Q7 valued at 4.2 million UAH, which was used by the mayor of one of the cities in the Lviv region.

According to evidence collected by NABU detectives in cooperation with SAPO prosecutors, the mayor’s daughter officially acquired the vehicle in 2023. However, the investigation revealed that the car was exclusively used by the mayor himself. Furthermore, he performed actions consistent with ownership and control of the vehicle, suggesting that registering it under his daughter’s name was a scheme to conceal the true owner.

In an attempt to avoid civil confiscation, another formal transaction was carried out, transferring the vehicle to a third party. Nevertheless, financial analysis confirmed that neither the mayor nor his family had sufficient legal income to purchase such an asset.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the court recognized the vehicle as an unjustified asset and ruled in favor of its confiscation to the benefit of the state. This decision can be appealed within 30 days from the date of the full ruling.
