
Junior Sergeant Mykhailo Kravchyshyn from the Stryi district has been posthumously honoured with a state award of Ukraine — the “Defender of the Fatherland” medal. In accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine, the distinction was presented to the wife of the fallen serviceman. This was reported by the Stryi District State Administration.
Mykhailo Kravchyshyn was a resident of the urban-type settlement of Slavske. He served as a Category 2 border service inspector — driver of the transport group of the technical support unit of the border outpost for protection and logistical support of the border commandant’s office for engineering arrangements of military unit 9938.
The serviceman died on 28 October 2024 at the Municipal Non-Commercial Enterprise “DOKL named after Mechnikov” in Dnipro from wounds sustained near the settlement of Lyman in Donetsk region. He was 55 years old at the time of his death.
