
At the Lviv Regional Military Administration, a state award was presented to the family of the fallen police officer from Drohobych, Mykhailo Shtynda. The honorary award was given by the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, and the head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv region, Oleksandr Shlyakhovskyi, to the Hero’s mother, Hanna Shtynda.
Mykhailo Shtynda was born on 27 June 1987 and lived in Drohobych. He attended School No. 1, then the Vocational School in Stryi, where he qualified as an assistant locomotive driver, and also graduated from the National University ‘Lviv Polytechnic’. After completing his military service, he worked at the wagon depot and later in the security police.
In 2016, Mykhailo began serving in the National Police of Ukraine and later served as an inspector in the support unit of the KORD special police unit of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv region. He bravely carried out combat missions in one of the most dangerous areas of the Donetsk region front. Mykhailo Shtynda’s life tragically ended on 18 September 2025 in the village of Ivanopillia, Donetsk region. He was 38 years old.
Those present honoured the memory of the law enforcement officers who remained loyal to their oath and the Ukrainian people until the end.
