Returning to the community on a shield is Mykola Matliak from Slavske, born on 16 March 1973, a serviceman who for more than a year was considered missing in action.
In June 2024, Mykola Matliak was called up for military service. He served as a machine-gunner in military unit A7014, selflessly fulfilling his military duty.
The defender’s life was cut short on 19 March 2025 near the settlement of Nove in Donetsk region. The community reports that the funeral cortege with the body of Mykola Matliak will arrive in the community in the afternoon; they promise to provide further details of the procession’s route in due course.
Heartfelt condolences are extended to the family and friends of the fallen, and residents of the community are urged to give a fitting welcome to the defender who is returning home on a shield.
