Defender of Ukraine Mykola Vasylovych Sytnyk, born in 1975 and a resident of the Sheptytskyi community, has joined the Heavenly Legion.
The soldier served in military unit A4808. He held the rank of sergeant and worked as an operator in an anti-tank missile system unit.
For almost a year, Mykola Sytnyk’s family hoped for his return. Since May 2025, the Defender had been considered missing. Sadly, it was recently confirmed that the serviceman died on May 25, 2025, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Komar in Donetsk region.
It is known that Mykola Sytnyk:
- was born in 1975;
- served in military unit A4808;
- held the rank of sergeant;
- was an operator in an anti-tank missile system unit;
- had been considered missing since May 2025;
- died on May 25, 2025, in Donetsk region.
The Sheptytskyi City Council expressed sincere condolences to the Hero’s family, relatives, friends, and fellow soldiers. The community shares the pain of this heavy loss and bows its head in mourning.
Remembering the Defenders who gave their lives for Ukraine’s independence and freedom will remain the duty of each of us.
