Belz Region in mourning over the loss of its native son, Vasyl Kombel, who heroically died in battles for Ukraine’s freedom.
Vasyl Kombel, a resident of the village of Khlyvchany, died on May 12, 2025, defending the nation in the area of Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region. “We bow our heads in mourning and respect. We express heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and comrades,” the message states.
The hero will return on a shield to his native home on May 16, 2025. The estimated meeting time in the village of Khlyvchany is 16:00. The cortege will move from Lviv through Zhovkva, Velyki Mosty, Butyny, Prystan.
The funeral service will take place on May 17, 2025, and the warrior will be buried in his native Khlyvchany. “Vasyl joined the ranks of defenders during the hardest times — he served with dignity and courage for the future of each of us,” the announcement notes.
