The Sokal community mourns once again: on October 10, 2025, the heart of Ukrainian defender Myroslav Faryna stopped beating. He was 49 years old and a resident of Sokal.
Myroslav was born on October 24, 1976. He graduated from Sokal Secondary School No. 1 in 1993 and then completed his studies at Sokal Vocational School in 1994. In 2005, he married his wife Natalia, and they later welcomed a daughter, Diana.
In April 2024, Myroslav was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He swore allegiance to the Ukrainian people and began his service in military unit A2393 — a separate mechanized brigade — where he held the rank of Senior Sergeant.
He was actively engaged in combat operations in some of the most intense zones of conflict in eastern and northern Ukraine. Despite multiple injuries and concussions sustained in battle, he remained committed to the frontline and to his comrades.
On October 10, 2025, his heart gave out…
The community extends its deepest condolences to his mother Hanna Stepanivna, wife Natalia, daughter Diana, sisters Viktoriya and Iryna, fellow soldiers, and friends.
A farewell ceremony for the Hero will take place on Saturday, October 11, at 12:00 PM in Sokal, near the Church of St. Michael the Archangel (near the “Lvivvuhillia” state enterprise). A memorial service and burial will be held immediately upon arrival.
Eternal memory to the Hero.
