
Tragic news has once again shaken the Velykomostivska community — another brave defender has fallen. On April 10, 2025, Yurii Vasylovych Marets, a native of Kupychvolia and inspector of the rapid response command of the 105th Border Detachment named after Prince Volodymyr the Great, was killed in the line of duty.
Born in 1991, Yurii was called up for military service and served the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine with honor, faithfully upholding his military oath.
While performing defense-related tasks near the village of Kolisnykivka in the Kupiansk district of Kharkiv region, he sustained injuries that proved fatal.
Yurii’s loss is deeply felt by his family and loved ones. He is survived by his parents, wife, brother, sister, and a young daughter who will grow up knowing her father was a true Hero of Ukraine.
The community extends its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and fellow soldiers of the fallen Defender. We mourn with you and bow our heads in sorrow.
