Yuriy Kisiv from Stryi died in battle defending Ukraine
Yuriy Kisiv (June 20, 1976 – February 26, 2025) was a senior sergeant and rifleman of an airborne assault unit who gave his life for his country.
He was born and lived in Stryi. He studied at Stryi School No. 1 and later attended a local college. In January 2024, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend his homeland. His comrades gave him the call sign “Positive” for his resilience and optimism.
Yuriy Kisiv heroically fell in battle in the Kursk region while fulfilling his military duty. His daughter and son were left without a father.
