Defender from Ternovitsa Stepan KACHMAR returns home for the last time on the shield.
The war took the life of the soldier on March 22, 2024, after severe injuries received in fierce battles in the Luhansk region. The sad news was reported in Novoyavorivska City Council.
“Stepan was kind, generous, merciful, he never refused help to anyone,” – the words of the deceased’s brother Halyna.

Kachmar Stepan Ivanovich was born on December 20, 1970 in the village of Ternovitsa, where he lived. Studied at a local school. In 1986, he entered the Novoyavoriv Higher Vocational School. He served in the army from 1989 to 1991. After the army, he worked at the Yavoriv State Mining and Chemical Enterprise “Sirka” as an electrical fitter repairing equipment. From 1997 to 1999, he worked in the Department of State Security under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Lviv region.
Despite his disability, he went to the defense of the Motherland from the first day of the full-scale invasion. He served in the 63rd separate mechanized brigade.
Zahysnyk is survived by his mother Anna, father Mykola, sister Svitlana and her husband Vitaly, brother Vasyl and his wife Galina, and nephews Pavlo and Svyatoslav.

The Hero’s prayer meeting will be held on Thursday, March 28, at 12:00 p.m. at the beginning of Ternovitsa village.
Farewell and the funeral rite will be held in the village of Ternovitsa in the church of the Holy Trinity at 1:00 p.m.
The Hero will be buried at the local cemetery in the village of Ternovitsa.
